John Winden

Private "B Co., 137th Infantry, 35th Division; son of Andrew A Winden of Northwood, ND and born near Northwood ND April 22, 1886; entered the service March 30, 1918; trained at Camps Dodge and Mills: overseas in May 1918; saw continuous service and was wounded during the Meuse-Argonne offensive by a machine gun bullet in the leg; removed to Base Hospital No 26 where blood poisoning set in, further complicated by pneumonia; from the effects of which he died on October 29, 1918.
