Athol L Virden

Private, 266th Aero Squadron; son of M.W.Virden of Kempton, ND., and born at Springfield, Neb on May 14, 1891; attended Dakota Business College at Fargo, ND; entered service Dec 10, 1917 in Aviation Service of Signal Corps and sent to Mount Clements, Mich., for training; honorably discharged from the service in March, 1918 because of physical disability due to leakage of the heart; returned to his home at Kempton ND., where he died on August 1, 1918 from pneunomia and a weakened condition due to his heart affliction.
