George L Rourke
First Class Private, M.G. Co., 164th Infanatry, 41st Division. Entered the service during the summer of 1917 by enlisting in the M.G. Co., 1st N.D Inf., which later became M.G. Co., 164th Infantry of the 41st Division; he trained at Camp Greene, N Caroline, Camp Mills, N.Y. and Camp Merritt, NJ; overseas Dec 15, 1917 on the USS "Leviathan" and landed in Liverpool, England on Dec 24, 1917 and in Le Havre, France, on Jan 1, 1918; shortly after he was transferred to the 1st M.G. Bn., of the 1st Division and with that unit saw several major actions inclding Cantigny and the Soissons offensive. He was killed in action near Soissons on August 3, 1918.
