Clarence N Quamme

Private first class, "I" co., 139th Infantry, 35th Division; son of John O Quamme of Northwood, N.D. and born there April 8, 1887; entered service March 30, 1918; trained at Camp Dodge, Iowa; overseas May 1, 1918; saw action in St Mihiel drive, at Wesserling, Verdun and n Meuse-Argonne offensive; received slight wound, and was in Base Hospital No 6 at Bordeaux, France, for three months from blood poisoning; promoted to private first class in December, 1918; discharged May 2, 1919.
