Vivian James Olmstead

Private "A" Battery, 42nd Field Artillery, 14th Division; born at Larimore, ND on Marh 4, 1895; graduate of Larimore High School; entered military service July 22, 1918, and sent to Camp Custer, Michigan; assigned to 14th Division for training; while there he became ill with influenza and pneumonia and died from the effects of the disease on October 17, 1918. Private Olmstead was very well known at Larimore, where he was born and raised.
