Captain Edward C Jackson

Captain Edward C Jackson was born in Nebraska in 1880. Served during the Spanish-American war in the First Territorial Infantry, U.S.V., during the Philipinne insurrection, in the 33rd Infantry, U.S.V. and during the Moro Rebellion in the 14th U.S. Cavalry. He enlisted in the U.S. Engineers in 1908 and was dischaged while in the grade of Master Engineer Junior Grade, to accept a commission as 1st lieutenant, U.S.R., and was detailed to duty as Inspector Instructor, Indiana National Guard, commissioned as captain of Engineers, Indiana National Guard, Aug 4, 1917, and appointed Adjutant of the Indiana Battalion of Engineers.

Captain Jackson qualified on numberious occassions as expert rifleman and was a member of the Philippine Division Cavalry team, 1905, U.S. Army Cavalry team, 1906, 1907, 198, 1909 and 1913 at the national matches Sea Girt, N.J. and Camp Perry, Ohio. He qualified as distinguished Marksman in 1908. Captain Jackson is Adjutant of our regiment.
