Magill T Ellison

Private, Quartermaster Corps; son of Peter Ellison, of Brenna Township, Grand Forks county, N.D.; born there on June 29, 1985; graduated from city schools and from Central high school; entered University of North Dakota, School of Medicine in October, 1916; entered service July 26, 1917, and was assigned to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri; later transferred to Camp Dodge, Iowa and assigned to the Quartermaster Corps. While at Camp Dodge he was stricken with appendicitis and died following an operation on October 13, 1917. So far as known Private Ellison was the first man from Grand Forks county to die in the service following the declaration of war with Germany.
