Merle Becker

First Sergeant, Replacement Camp, Langres, France; son of George Becker and born at Northwood, ND., November 23, 1896; entered service with "M" Co., 1st ND Infantry at Grand Forks, ND and served on Mexican border, was promoted from private to private first class, October 6, 1916; re-entered Federal service with Company July 15, 1917, which was made "M" Co., 164th Infantry, 41st dividion to Camp Greene, NC, Camp Mills NY and Camp Merritt, NJ; overseas December 15, 1917; promoted corporal December 1, 1917, and first sergeant October 7, 1918; stationed at Langres, France; discharged July 16, 1919.
