Nora Anderson
Nurse, Army Nurse Corps of St Hillaire, Minn., received her early training in nursing at the Deaconess Hospital at Grand Forks. Shortly after America entered the World War, Nurse Anderson entered the nursing service of the US Army through the American Red Cross and was sent to the Base Hospital at Camp Custer, Michigan for duty. Later in the fall of 1917 she was ordered overseas and was stationed at severl base hospitals in France. It was while on duty in an American military hospital overseas that she contracted diphtheria, later dying from the effects of the affliction.
